Support Rooted in Community

Healing Begins With Understanding

We provide education to address emotional challenges that people from diverse ethnocultural communities may experience, including questions of identity, cultural expectations, isolation, and life transitions. Our programs and resources are available in your language. We help reduce the burden of feeling alone and support you in your journey.

Why Support In Your Community Matters

Immigration can be overwhelming, and once you no longer feel connected to home, it can feel like an impossible task to establish a new sense of place and belonging. Trust is at the core of our support, and providing programs in your culture and language ensures we build trusting relationships based on mutual understanding.

Fostering Community of Connections

Feeling isolated in a different culture can really make an impact on mental health. Our support groups provide a safe space where you can connect with others who have had similar experiences.

Empowering Through Understanding

Cultural misunderstandings can create significant feelings of frustration and isolation. Our spaces resemble “home,” where we offer understanding and validation, helping one another embark on the journey of adjustment.

Breaking Down Barriers

We aim to connect community members with resources and services they may be unaware of, which can support their journeys.

Why Join a Support Group?

Connect with peers who share similar cultural backgrounds and experiences.

Community and Belonging

Newcomers who have left behind their social support networks and now face language and cultural barriers in a new environment may find it challenging to feel a sense of belonging. Establishing connections within a supportive community can be essential to experiencing a sense of true belonging.

Mutual
Support

Within these circles, members have the opportunity to both receive and offer support. Empathetic encouragement fosters a supportive environment, empowering individuals to assist and inspire one another throughout their respective journeys.

Inspiring Community Members

Working together fosters collective growth. Drawing inspiration from the resilience and determination of others can help alleviate personal burdens. Feel empowered to share your experiences, so other members feel safe sharing their own stories and challenges.

How Are Our Support Groups Different?

A Space That Feels Like Home When you’re away from home, the smallest things that give you a connection can seem like a lifeline. Our programs bring newcomers together in spaces where you feel seen, understood, and welcomed just as you are.
Community-Led and Culturally InformedPrograms reflect real experiences, beliefs, and culturally relevant norms, developed with your communities.
Led by People Who Share the Journey Facilitated by trained community members who understand the challenges of migration, settlement, and navigating two cultures. Each program is designed in collaboration with the communities we serve, fostering a culturally grounded and trustworthy relationship of support.
Development of Practical Tools for Growth Community members can acquire new skills to manage stress, strengthen family relationships, and promote emotional well-being.
Equity-Driven Approach Our programs help remove barriers to support people in building a full, meaningful life both within their own community and in the wider society.
